Windows : System Error 1326 has occurred

Problem

When trying to map a drive to a remote machine you recieve,

            System Error 1326 has occurred
            Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Solution

1. Goto Run and type secpol.msc
2. Then navigate to Local Policies > Security Settings > Network Access : Sharing and security model for local accounts
3. Set this to "Classic - Local users authenticate as themselves"
4. You should now be able to map and access the required share.
