What is the "Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder" ?

The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware open source utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install Windows from your registry. It allows you to print or save your keys for safekeeping. It works on Windows 7, 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003, Server 2008, Office XP, Office 2003, and Office 2007 family of products. It also has a community-updated configuration file that retrieves product keys for many other applications. Another feature is the ability to retrieve product keys from unbootable Windows installations.

How do I run the  "Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder" ?

First you will need to download the software from here.
You can either run the program (keyfinder.exe) by double clicking the exe and using it via the GUI.

Or run it via your command prompt and use one of the various switches.

Command Line Options

Below are the various command line options that you can use from the command prompt : 

/save [location]        - Save keys to a text file.
/savecsv [location]    - Save Keys to a csv file.
/close                     - Do not display the Magic Jelly Bean Window
/hive [location]        - Specify a registry hive to extract your keys from. (used for remote key retrival)
/file [filename]         - Specify a filename

Example : 
Below shows you an example for which we save the license keys to a text file to the root of C: as the filename license_keys.txt along with disabling the Jelly Bean GUI window.

C:\Documents and Settings\felix> keyfinder /save C:\ /close /file license_keys.txt

C:\Documents and Settings\felix> type C:\license_keys.txt
